Additional reinforcement of medical publicity instead of opening a foreign medical institution


A bill has been proposed by the National Assembly to abolish special cases for the opening of Jeju for-profit hospitals. The move is aimed at resolving the controversy over the establishment of for-profit hospitals by deleting special cases for opening foreign medical institutions.

On the 7th, Representative Wi Sung-gon of Democratic Party of Korea (Seoguipo City) proposed an amendment to the Special Act on the Establishment of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Creation of Jeju Free International City. The amendment is to abolish the special cases for the establishment of medical institutions stipulated in Articles 307 and 308 of the Special Act.
