The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s determination to seek regulatory innovation has surfaced with the inauguration of President Suk-Yeol Yoon’s administration. The MFDS had previously conducted 7 internal debates for each of its fields during the past 2 months to come up with a plan for ‘administrative innovation in food and drug at an international level', in line with the national goal of Yoon Suk-Yeol’s administration. In fact, regulatory innovation is the first assignment given to the MFDS by Yoo-Kyung Oh, the Minister of Food and Drug Safety that was appointed on May 27th.
