Free vaccination of Rotarix¡¤RotaTeq is available

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) will start a national vaccination project for Rotavirus vaccines Rotarix and RotaTeq, which are distributed in Korea, from the 6th.

From this day, infants aged 2 to 6 months who are subject to vaccination will be able to receive one of the two vaccines free of charge at nationally consigned medical institutions or public health centers. Rotavirus is easily spread through the hands and mouths of infants from contaminants in diapers or toys. Infection can cause vomiting, high fever, and severe diarrhea, leading to dehydration and requiring hospitalization.
