Previously, patentees could legally extend the duration of a patent unlimitedly, but the government's plan is to promote it up to 'up to 14 years'. According to the pharmaceutical industry on the 21st, the Korean Intellectual Property Office recently prepared an amendment to the Patent Act to reform the system for the duration of drug patent rights.
