Drug exports reduced by 14%... COVID-19 effect vanished

Cumulative drug exports in Q3 amount to KRW 5.8 trillion...returned to pre-COVID-19 levels
Cumulative pharmaceutical exports in Q3 this year have fallen 13.8% YoY to a record KRW 5.8 trillion. With the global transition to a COVID-19 endemic, exports of COVID-19 vaccines fell sharply, leading to a decline in exports.
According to the Korea Customs Service on the 17th, the cumulative pharmaceutical exports in Q3 this year amounted to USD 4.255 billion (about KRW 5.8 trillion).
Compared to the USD 4.936 billion exported during the same period last year, the amount decreased by 13.8%. When expanding the period, the amount has been on a decline for 2 consecutive years. In Q3 2021, cumulative total exports recorded USD 5.760 billion.
