Bill pending on substituting dispositions for illegal rebate

May only be legislated within the 21st National Assembly session if the subcommittee passes the bill within early next year

A bill that would allow companies to substitute the price cut/rebate suspension dispositions made on their respective drugs due to rebates has been put on hold at the Standing Committee¡¯s Legislation and Judiciary Subcommittee stage.

The review for the bill continued after the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the ministry in charge of the bill, turned down the subcommittee members¡¯ suggestion that the current law should be amended to eliminate cases where third parties – such as patients or medical institutions - are harmed by the reimbursement suspension dispositions.

As a result, the bill would need to pass the Health and Welfare Committee's subcommittee review before next year'
