A bill that would allow companies to substitute the price cut/rebate suspension dispositions made on their respective drugs due to rebates has been put on hold at the Standing Committee’s Legislation and Judiciary Subcommittee stage.

The review for the bill continued after the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the ministry in charge of the bill, turned down the subcommittee members’ suggestion that the current law should be amended to eliminate cases where third parties – such as patients or medical institutions - are harmed by the reimbursement suspension dispositions.

As a result, the bill would need to pass the Health and Welfare Committee's subcommittee review before next year'
