Biomarkers are usually indicators used to detect changes within one¡¯s body, using proteins, DNA, RNA, metabolites, etc. Digital biomarkers are an extension of this concept and refer to biomarkers collected using digital technologies.
Digital biomarkers are used for DCT, as they enable remote monitoring and treatment of patients. It offers the advantage of enabling patient recruitment via website and mobile channels in addition to the traditional offline recruitment, to maximize recruitment speed and participation rates in clinical trials.
