‘Since November last year, we received an information from the Korean Society of Health-system Pharmacists about a drug shortage of the chemotherapy drug 5-FU, and we reached out to the manufacturing company to investigate the cause,’ Kim Seonyoung, an official from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS)’s Heath Insurance Policy Review Committee stated.
