Health authorities are expected to establish reimbursement standards to prevent the misuse of hyaluronic acid eye drops after failing to reach a conclusion during last year's reimbursement adequacy evaluations.

It is reported that the Ministry of Health and Welfare is preparing an administrative notice to announce the reimbursement standards set by HIRA. HIRA’s reimbursement standard plan is expected to focus on the issue of abuse and misuse of HA eye drops and includes some restrictions on the number of uses and combinations.

According to industry sources on the 3rd, HIRA’s proposed salary standards for HA eye drops are expected to be administratively notified soon.
